Assortment of top quality dry wines

Red and blue label.

The characteristics of good dry white wine are a full flavour, nicely rounded wine acid, sort bouquet and aroma, as well as a little higher alcohol. Top quality dry wines are distinguished with their intensive gold yellow colour, which is given by very mellow grapes at the time of harvesting.

White Rizling

  • Vintage: 2004
  • Alcohol: 10,5 vol%
  • Reducing sugarr: 7 g/l
  • Wine acid content: 7 g/l
The White Riesling is an elegant white vine, which yields a particular bouquet and harmony. Therefore it is still regarded as the king of white wines. In Vinag’s viticulture sites around Maribor we can find the vineyards of Vinag, which guarantee optimal ripening. Vinag’s dry White Riesling, with its golden yellow colour, reveals the richness of sunshine in which the grapes were ripening. It is the bouquet of acacia and overripe grapes, which enchants us in a very special way. When we respectfully keep it in our mouth, in order to make the feeling last as long as possible – the parting is a very lasting one – we recognize the fullness of its body and the balanced elegance between pleasant acid and dry extracts. It should be served with the best seafood, grilled trout, veal and even goose liver. It should be served rather cooled at 10°C.

Sauvignon

  • Vintage: 2005
  • Alcohol: 10 vol%
  • Reducing sugar: 8 g/l
  • Wine acid content: 6,5 g/l
This vine originates in France and was first planted on various Maribor sites by the archduke Janez. Most certainly, he did not make a mistake. Sauvignon became a very popular white vine in Slovenia from which high quality wines are produced in all winegrowing regions. It is a very aromatic wine with a distinct aroma of drying hay or elder, sometimes reminding us of bell-pepper or green tomato bush. When the grapes are ripe its berries are full of small black dots. Vinag’s dry Sauvignon is an elegant representative of its kind, with a yellowish-green colour. Its bouquet is something special and is reminiscent of black currant, its taste being consistent and harmonious. With a glass of Sauvignon we are ready for culinary delights. The wine goes well with cheeses, especially with goat cheese. It should be served at 10°C.

Green Sylvaner

  • Vintage: 2006
  • Alcohol: 11,5 vol%
  • Reducing sugar: 8,5 g/l
  • Wine acid content: 6 g/l

This royal wine kind is found very rarely; it is not often found as an independent wine kind. The Vinag wine cellar takes good care for this wine kind, which has almost been forgotten in Slovenia. As we lift the glass to light, the wine glisters in a yellowish-green colour. Because of its simple and fruity bouquet and its lightness the wine is pleasingly drinkable. The semi-dry wine presents his full body; it sets itself free as pure freshness of grapes in the mouth, which enchants us with their playful nature. The wine can be served to cold appetizers, such as slide slices of beef and fish meat (carpaccio) and to roast beef, also cold roast beef and even spicy stew. It should be served chilled on a temperature of 10 °C.

Chardonnay

  • Vintage: 2005
  • Alcohol: 10,5 vol%
  • Reducing sugar: 6 g/l
  • Wine acid content: 7 g/l

Chardonnay is a world-renowned vine, which immediately attracted wine lovers from around the world. A high-quality white wine is produced from this vine, grown on the famous Celestrina site, above Malečnik, where the Drava River creates special microclimatic conditions. Excellent dry wines are produced from this vine, mainly due to its strong body which is, even if dry, very rich. Characteristically, its colour is greenish-yellow. In a glass, its slow and oily movement tells us that we hold in our hands a rich wine full of dry extracts. Its bouquet is reminiscent of a ripe yellow gooseberry, with a taste that is full-bodied, harmonious but nevertheless slightly acidic. Dry Vinag’s Chardonnay goes well with fish, poultry and lean meat hors-d’oeuvres, but can also be served on its own as a »conversation« wine. After you have tasted Chardonnay for the first time, you are unlikely to forget it, and you are most likely to fall in love with the one from the Celestrina site. It should be served chilled at 10°C.

Pinot Noir

  • Vintage: 2006
  • Alcohol: 11 vol%
  • Reducing sugar: 2 g/l
  • Wine acid content: 7 g/l

Pinot Noir is an old European red vine, from which excellent red wines are produced. It is widely recognized and gaining more and more and more friends in Slovenia. Vinag’s sites on Gačnik protect this sensitive vine so that the grapes can ripen, since high quality wine can only be produced from ripe grapes. Dry Pinot Noir is an elegant wine, of deep ruby-red colour, which is even more pronounced in candlelight. Its exciting bouquet is reminiscent of blackberry, cherry and raspberry combined into a single scent. The taste is also something special – unobtrusive and rich in tannin, the acids are moderate and balanced. In other words, its taste reminds us of the touch of our skin or soft velvet. The wine goes well with piquant cheeses, poultry and game. It should be served at 12°C.

Traminer

  • Vintage: 2003
  • Alcohol: 13,5 vol%
  • Reducing sugar: 3 g/l
  • Wine acid content: 4,9 g/l

In Slovenia, dry Traminers are rare. Vinag’s wine cellar is one of the few cellars where you can enjoy in the incomparable bouquet of dry Traminer. This is a unique white vine with a distinctive bouquet and noble aroma. The wine presents itself in a yellow colour, sometimes with gold hues and reflections. The main characteristic of the Traminer is its unique bouquet, reminiscent of wild roses. Because of its dry nature Vinag’s Traminer is so elegant, it makes us want to get to know its character a little better. Savoured tasting is even further encouraged by its rich, full-bodied taste, which emphasises its harmonious character, and prepares us for culinary delights. For quite some time this has not been a wine suitable only for desserts. Vinag’s dry Traminer goes well with slightly piquant cheeses, white meats and freshwater fish. It should be served at 10°C.
